All Jr. High and High School wrestlers will need to have their weights certified by a district athletic trainer. Our first weight certification day will be November 6 after school as a team in the High School athletic building. Wrestlers will meet outside of the wrestling room and we will check each wrestlers level of hydration, their body fat, and their weight to determine their lowest allowable weight class and ensure safety. Wrestlers can do weight certification up until our first competition day in December.
Why Wrestle?
Wrestling is for everybody. You compete against people in your weight class. Because of this, size differences won’t happen. Anybody who is determined and works hard can find success - not necessarily the tallest, biggest or fastest.
You will be in the best shape of your life. We will do daily strength and conditioning and wrestling itself is a total body workout.
No blame. No excuses. In wrestling there is a winner and loser. No Dad or Coach can favor a player and give them more playing time or put them in key positions. Wrestling is all about you! You get to be your own hero and build self-confidence
You will compete. Whether you are first string or third string, you will not just stand on the sidelines. You will have opportunities to wrestle in matches and or tournaments.
Wrestling teaches life lessons better than any other sport. Resilience, mental toughness, physical ability, self-reflection, work ethic, discipline are all required to be succesful at wrestling.
